Dirty Dancing fans can have the time of their lives this Thursday evening (January 29), at The Bridges.

The shopping centre is putting on a range of entertainment based around the musical to coincide with the Dirty Dancing tour coming to Sunderland’s Empire Theatre.

Andy Bradley, centre director at The Bridges, said: “We think the fantastic entertainment this week is going to be extremely popular as Dirty Dancing has so many fans. We’re hoping lots of people will come along and join in the fun.”

The entertainment will include a performance from Dance Jam, a Sunderland based group, who will recreate a favourite Dirty Dancing song and if any shoppers want to try their hand at some of the film’s most famous moves Dance City, a regional dance organisation, will be there to help.

If that’s not enough, shoppers can enjoy the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, which will be played throughout the evening while they browse the stores.

The introduction of late night shopping evenings (6-8pm on a Thursday), have already proved popular with Sunderland’s shoppers.

The Bridges car park offers free parking between 5.30-9pm. For tickets to see Dirty Dancing at the Sunderland Empire visit their website.
