Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld is facing legal action for discriminating against plus sized models after he said, “Nobody wants to see curvy women on the runway.”

A French group which was formed last year named ‘Belle, Ronde, Sexy et je m’assume’ which translates to ‘Beautiful, Rounded, Sexy and fine with it’ wants to see Chanel’s creative director fined for his “defamatory and discriminatory comments” against plus sized woman.

The group president, Betty Aubriere, told AFP, a French news agency that: “These insults by celebrities must stop. We’re sick of it.” She added: “There are a lot of young girls who don’t feel comfortable in their skin, and to hear public comments like that is terrible for them.”

The fashion designer, who is as famous as his inappropriate comments as his work is for Chanel, has never sounded remorseful over his views on women’s sizes. Just a year ago, Lagerfeld caused outrage after he described British singer Adele as “a little bit too fat.” He then went on to justify his comments by saying “I said she was roundish; a little roundish is not fat.”
