High Street favourite, Whistles, will officially join the London Fashion Week schedule next month as the British Fashion Council welcomes them to the proceedings.
Although the well-loved brand has staged both a presentation and a show during LFW in previous years, this is the first time the British Fashion Council has allowed them an on-schedule, official spot.
In order to “fully immerse people in the brand,” Whistles have decided to exhibit a presentation for the A/W 2014 show.
Jane Shepherdson, Whistles CEO said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for Whistles to show our a/w 2014 collection to the global press and buyers. We are very excited to be working with the support of the BFC, who have done an incredible job promoting British fashion.”
Whistles was founded in 1978 as an independent boutique and since has evolved into a chic, contemporary brand. Their collections encapsulate: “an intelligent sense of design with interesting and luxurious piece”, and aim to provide a laid back, clean aesthetic with an attention to detail.
The brand continues to expand as their debut Menswear collection is set to launch this year alongside their A/W 2014 womenswear. With an annual sales growth of 23% in 2013, Whistles is certainly gaining some popularity as a brand.
“We have had a great deal of support from international press who have discovered the brand, as well as retailers and e-commerce sites,” the CEO continues. “It has also elevated the brand and allowed us to create a collection that showcases the design team’s skills.”
