Last week saw New York Fashion week, where some of our all time favourite designers showcased their winter 2014 collections.
But while most were cooing over the beautiful coats and winter staples our beauty team were watching #backstagebeauty on Instagram like hawks to bring you the latest trends in beauty.
This season the New York shows were all about simplicity, from the sleek ponytail, to the neutral make-up, every show was natural, simple and chic.

We saw backstage at Proenza Schouler that a flushed pink cheek, against a beautifully natural dewy base will be what we’re all wearing next winter.
The biggest beauty surprise came through in shows such as Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang, who showed the signs of an end to Big Brows.
For the past two years we have all been obsessed with the darker, fuller brow but New York showed that the latest trend will be bleaching them. Models were strutting down the catwalk with almost non-existent blonde brows, giving an almost haunting look.

And finally, although most designers opted for a smart ponytail or simple straight tresses, Marc Jacobs and few others showed how the Wednesday Adams plaits or a simple French braid across the fringe could be where beauty is heading.
