Prime colours, space, water, even a disappearing act. This is just a summary of Hunter Original’s first ever London Fashion Week show and they certainly made a splash.
With such awful weather battering the UK at the moment, we don’t think the brands show could have come at a better time.
And following its recent reveal of the label’s ‘Another Wet Summer’ spring/summer 2014 campaign, it seems they’re predicting another typically British stormy winter too.
Buzz around the show has heightened all week as we were promised a magical surprise, and we can definitely confirm we were not let down.
As the catwalk was coated in water- yes actual water flowed along the runway and sparsely lined trees, the show kicked off with models splashed along the stage wearing its instantly recognisable heritage khaki wellington boots and matching cape rain coats.
It wasn’t all heritage based though, we were greeted with a dazzling array of colours too. Hunter have taken it upon themselves to fight off the winter blues this year with a range of ruby reds, royal blues, buttery yellows and neon green, in the form of mid length pea coats and tote handbags.
We then found ourselves shooting into space. Dazzling metallic wellies and puffer jackets reflected the light from all angles mixed with yellow and blue, almost balaclava-esque, woolly hats.
But that wasn’t the end, far from it. Magician, Dynamo, kept us all guessing when he turned up to the show and the room went black. As the lights come back up, he’s stood on the runway surrounded by models. Only, not for long, he closed the show by making the models miraculously disappear and then rain playing cards.
We may be only two days into London Fashion Week, but we’re not that delirious yet, are we?
Hunter Original’s a/w ready to wear collection is available from tomorrow (February 16).
