Erdem AW14 Catwalk Report

Yes, this is not a drill. Erdem revealed his AW14 collection this afternoon, and stunned the crowd by the choice of footwear.

Metallics, sequins, velvet and even fur coats with snowflake crystals; Erdem definitely pulled it out of the bag this year. With texture being the main focus of the show, designer Erdem Moralio?lu showed a wide range of fabrics and styles that we can only dream of owning.

Erdem is considered to be Britain’s answer to Christian Lacroix, as he often uses lace and tulle in most of his designs. The Canadian designer, who is based in London, is known for his fanciful floral designs and romantic pieces that have crept their way into his AW14 collection.

Erdem has surprised the fashion world by steering clear of his well-known “pretty” and “ladylike” garments, as he chose black as the main canvas for all of his line.

Each outfit gave off a sexy and demure feel, with the signature black integrating with acid green, yellow and gold with the occasional hint of pink.

The white fur coat, laced with snowflake crystals was a hit with the crowd, along with the classic LBD made from velvet and lace. We loved!

Flats aside, this collection is definitely one of Erdem’s best.
