The iconic Dorchester hotel played host to the Huishan Zhang collection this morning. The Chinese born designer showed his Autumn/winter collection to a crowd of fashion editors, and when we saw the results we were not disappointed.
With feminine outlines and delicate florals, it seems he is bringing girly back. A-line skirts and coats with cinched in waists bring tailoring to the collection.
Our favourite pieces were the gold sequin 1920’s style flapper dress, and the white oriental printed shift dress.
The make-up was all about smoky eyes and nude lips, adding a dramatic element to the looks, and combined with relaxed wavy hair, the focus remained on the clothes.
The collection was inspired by a road trip through China and it has led to the creation of a refined, delicate collection. The pieces are easy-to-wear and designed with a real woman in mind, as they wouldn’t look out of place on the High Street.
Black lace dresses combined with cut-outs and sequins, means that some of the dresses are perfect for partying, while the tailored trousers and shirts are office-appropriate. There is something in this collection to suit everyone. Looks such as gold metallic trousers and coats mean that you will stand out for all the right reasons.
