March is one of my favourite months of the year; not only is it my birthday but it’s officially the start of Spring and at the end of the month the clocks go forward giving us all an extra hour of daylight.
With the lighter days comes the desire to shed the dark winter woollens and get into something a bit more colourful and stylish.
As with every spring/summer fashion season, florals are going to be immensely popular. Light, bright and easy to wear they reflect the renewed sense of optimism in the air.
This season Ted Baker has produced a stand out collection of dresses and skirts that reflect the mood perfectly.
I particularly love the Ted Baker Monny Rose skirt. The loose pleats give it plenty of volume and as a stand out item it can easily be worn with a plain white tee and designer handbag from Vivienne Westwood or Michael Kors.
For those looking to be a bit more daring, Armani Jeans has a couple of abstract floral pieces guaranteed to attract attention for all the right reasons.
Another trend to look out for this spring is lace with many designers using this delicate fabric in their SS14 pieces.
Body Frock, a brand new to Van Mildert, has incorporated lace onto a number of its body sculpting dresses, and if needing something for a special occasion Almost Famous has produced some 100% silk dresses that use lace to add fine detail.
If you do buy anything wonderful from Van Mildert be sure to use your Instagram account to tag your purchase with #MYVMLIFE and keep your eyes peeled across our social media channels for some exciting competition opportunities.
