Key Spring/ Summer 14 Trends

Fashion North have teamed up with designer retail store, Joseph, to bring you the key Spring/ Summer trends this season.

The sun has finally taken its stubborn hat off, and we have all found ourselves diving into the back of our wardrobes digging out dated summer clothes. But let’s face it, it’s not that warm yet (yes, I am talking to the people in shorts and vests already!)

So, get ahead of the game, and pick up some of these perfect transitional pieces, to take us stylishly through to Summer!

1. “All Laced Up”

As seen on the Burberry and Christopher Kane catwalks, power pretty is totally in. Take your florals and sharpen them up with fitted tops and blazers, leave your flouncy florals at home this summer.

2. Sports Luxe

Channel your inner Venus Williams this summer and take on pleats and tennis style dresses. Work with flat shoes, just incase you do need to make a centre court appearance, and keep it pastel coloured.

3. That’s Culotte!

If you buy one key item this season, make it a pair of culottes. The wide leg trousers are perfect for the Spring months when baring your legs is just one milk bottled leg step too far! Team with a fitted top and wedges if you need that extra height.

4. Work ‘IT’ Girl

Chic day dresses, are the perfect item to take you from day to night and office to dance floor. The neutral silk dress will accessorise with pretty much any colour, but here the tan leather works amazing with what WILL BE sun-kissed tans.

5. Powerfully Pink

In contrast to the pastel colours of the season, make your pink and your style HOT. These cigarette trousers with leather effect bottoms, look fierce with white stilettos. If you can’t afford Alexander Wang, all High Street stores do a version of the classic court heel. Keep your top colour simple.

6. The Bomb

The bomber jacket has been reinvented this season and if Cara wears it, we all wear it. The light fabric, makes it a perfect coat until the weather decides what it wants to do.

Check back to Fashion North this week for ‘3 Ways To Wear A Bomber Jacket’, whether you pair it with pvc or keep it relaxed with converse, you need to buy a bomber jacket this Spring!
