A North East fashion company which was set up to promote new home-grown designers will host an exclusive event at Newcastle’s Civic Centre next month in a bid to discover new designer talent.
A group of the most talented and new fashion designers and stylists will showcase at the upcoming Elévon World event on April 11. It will bring together some of the UK’s emerging designers under one roof for a night of catwalk shows, fashion and beauty advice and interviews with the starts of tomorrow.
Elévon is based in Newcastle and was set up by University of Sunderland graduate, Rita Roushdy in 2013, who fell in love with the region after studying Fashion Product & Promotion.
Rita, 23, said: “I feel that the fashion culture is constantly growing in the North East.
“There are more and more new designers graduating from Northern based universities and the talent here has great potential. I just feel the need to show the whole world what these people are capable of achieving.
“Elévon provides the perfect opportunity to expand a designer’s clothing brand. We are planning on organising lingerie shows next and rest assured I have enough plans to expand this company to a whole new level very quickly.”
Elévon started out as a marketing tool for Rita’s own clothing line ‘Rita Roushdy’ where she organised fashion shows to promote her collection twice a year. She then went on to set up Elévon as a tool for designers to have a platform for them to be noticed and to receive hands on advice, gain industry contacts and increase brand awareness.
The Elévon event will take place at 7pm on Friday April 11 at Newcastle Civic Centre.
