Adidas is really catering to the ladies in 2014. Soon after the sportswear brand’s Rick Owen’s collaboration we have another announcement.
Yesterday (Wednesday, April 16), print princess Mary Katrantzou announced she will be brightening up our sports gear in November, which means it’ll be top of our Christmas list and part of next January’s fitness regime!
We’re hoping to see some of the Greek born designers baroque print’s highlighting the upcoming Adidas’apparel and footwear. It’ll be a match made in heaven to have some stand out gym gear, that not only fits form but fashion.
The line should echo a grown up geometric feel if Mary Katrantzou’s AW14 line is anything to go by. The punchy chainmail, intricate embellishments and power symbols had our heads spinning on the runway. This is the darker cousin of her Topshop collaborations in 2012.
In an interview with British Vogue she said: “I grew up, like so many other kids around the world, wearing Adidas sneakers, and I’m really excited about bringing my vision to such a global brand. They have a fantastic heritage, and their ability to innovate in sportswear makes them the perfect partner for us to work with in this market.”
Say hello to the beginning of a beautiful and hopefully long and fruitful union between the Adidas and Mary Katrantzou.
Adidas have truly kitted us gals out this year from our bikini bod prep in Topshop’s ditsy print tops in summer to the Baz Luhrmanesque colour punch of Katrantzou’s winter release. We’ll be a kaleidoscope of stylish sweat!
