The designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have been found guilty of their alleged tax evasion charges.
After several hours of consideration, a three-judge panel concluded that the pair would serve a 20-month jail sentence which had been delayed from last June.
The pair sold their Dolce and Gabbana and D&G brands back in 2004 to holding company Gado Srl based in Luxembourg.
The two promptly denied the charges and even appealed last years charges with their legal representative.
The designers made a statement about their case: “Those issues that concern the image of the fashion house and the creation of products, while all that pertains to the commercial phase, such as the organization and the administration of the company structures, concern other offices and individuals.”
Back in March state general prosecutor, Gaetano Santamaria, requested the defendants to be acquitted because he claimed the case was groundless.
