Is there any better way to treat yourself on a Monday night than a manicure, 2-course Chinese meal, fashion show and to wash it all down with a vodka martini?
No, we don’t think so either.
At Fat Buddha restaurant last night (May 12), NE1 Newcastle Fashion Week held a ‘Martini Manicure Monday’ event, with Spoilt For Choice nail and beauty lounge supplying a complimentary manicure. Using Orly products we opted for the colour of spring/ summer 2014 lilac with a shimmered finish.
As the night moved upstairs, we took a seat on our private dining table while we chatted to the team from Zanders hair design who designed the hair and make-up for the evening. They went for low but volumised pony’s for the girls and slick back comb overs for the boys.
Sandra Tang, head of programming and events at NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week, introduced the spring/ summer collection styled by Van Mildert.
The Models, supplied by BOHO models, sported floral maxi dresses in a beautiful array of pastel shades and slim feat jeans with crisp white shirts perfect for these spring months.
Of course the accessories were more than enviable from the Van Mildert store, with vibrant Michael Kors totes and clutches coming out with every model.
The boys sported chinos, polos and boat shoes, finishing with tailored Hugo Boss suits all available to buy in store and online.
After the models strutted down the catwalk to an upbeat house vibe, it was time to order the food!
Choosing two courses, we went for traditional Chinese spring rolls and sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style. Fat Buddha did not disappoint as the food came out in authentic bowls from the friendly staff. As we attempted, and failed to use our chop sticks, we wrapped up the meal with a passionfruit vodka martini!
Another successful event from #NE1NFW.
