June 12 is a date for the diary. Topman are releasing a new collaboration with Danish designer, Astrid Andersen.
The high street chain is teaming up with Danish sportswear designer, Astrid Andersen for a 17-piece capsule collection.
Andersen has worked closely with Topman and Fashion East for three seasons through joint initiative ‘MAN’, and is about to embark on her third season with her eponymous line showcasing at London Collection: Men on Sunday 15 June.
Astrid describes the line as making “sport-inspired casual wear with a luxurious feel. I want it to be very clean and sleek, but at the same time push some materials and techniques that will be unconventional for Topman to use in their menswear selection”.
The 17-piece collection is true to Astrid Andersen’s house aesthetic, with an oversized silhouette. The pivotal concept is an eye-catching colour palette of monochrome and carnation pink, with the trio of colours accentuated by contrasting fabrics and techniques all finished with delicate copper foil and chunky copper metalwork.
So what is the 17 piece collection made of? On offer is:
- A crushed velvet carnation pink (oversized) tracksuit
- Neoprene bomber jackets
- Oversized vests in both black and white
- Closed mesh (oversized) t-shirts and shorts available in the trio of colours
- Brushed back fleece sweatpants and funnel neck sweatshirts
- A semi sheer jersey t-shirt
- Long sleeved top and jogging bottoms (all in black)
- And for the accessories is black nylon rucksack.
Gordon Richardson, Topman’s creative director talks of working with Andersen as having an “unrelenting focus on her design aesthetic” resulting in a “breath taking range of energetic luxury sportswear pieces, with no detail left unturned”.
The collection was modeled by hip-hop artist A$AP Ferg, who is an avid fan of the Danish designer and her work.
Prices start from £50 and are available from 12 June online and in London’s Oxford Circus and Selfridges.
