The discount clothing market is constantly on the rise. Last month Primark released statistics that their profit intake had risen by 22 per cent, and George at Asda profits had also risen by 0.5 per cent. Now Lidl has developed a clothing range adding to their current stock of underwear, vest and t-shirts.
The womenswear line, due in all 600 stores across England, Wales and Scotland from Monday 25 August, will comprise of classic but on trend items. The collection houses two styles of footwear. A simple lace up pump (£6.99) in coral, navy and a light brown and a heeled ankle boot available in neutral tones of coffee, grey and black (£9.99).
The go to staple denim has been crafted into two shirts (£5.99) in a light and dark wash with two front pockets and pearlised press-stud fastening. A chiffon shirt (£5.99) has also been created in white echoing the style of the denim shirts.
Skinny jeans (£6.99) are also featured in the quartet of colours, steel grey, traditional denim blue, dark blue and maroon.
Lidl’s design team have produced a trio of jackets for their first full fashion range. Two faux leather biker style jackets and a boucle fabric with leather piping priced £14.99.
This is a first for supermarket chain, but it is not their last as a menswear line is set to be in-store from November 6.
