Jessie J, Ella Eyre and Sam Smith are among the 2014 MOBO Award winners

The MOBO Awards, presented by Mel B and Sarah–Jane Crawford, was aired live for the first time on ITV2 last night (Wednesday October 22).

Jessie J, who won Best Female Act, opened the live show with a fiery performance of her latest singles Bang Bang and Burnin’ Up, dressed in sequinned black hot pants and bralet.

Host Mel B wore seven dresses throughout the night, all by Julien Macdonald. Opening the show in a hot red glittery mini dress.  Sarah-Jane also had multiple outfit changes, wearing a dress by Julien Macdonald, Peter Pilotto and Moschino, with accessories by Pandora and Kurt Geiger. Ella Eyre also wore a plunging Julien McDonald dress which was a Fashion North favourite.

Last night’s MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) Awards marked the 18th award ceremony since it started in 1996. The awards were created Kanya King and Andy Ruffell to recgonise artists of any ethnicity or nationality.

Sam Smith took home four awards – Best Male Act, Best RnB/Soul, Best Song (for Stay With Me) and Best Album.

Ella Eyre won Best Newcomer, after performing her latest single, Comeback. And of course it’s not a music award without Beyoncé winning an award – this time for Best International Act.
