Barbour made their LC:M debut with a presentation held at Swiss Church in Covent Garden on Saturday (January 10).
The autumn/winter 2015 collection connected the brands rich history, with a modern spin.
Known worldwide for their waxed cotton jackets, the brand now wants to show that they’re capable of more than just outerwear. Seven models presented a lesson in layering. Showcasing head-to-toe looks that went from English gentleman to contemporary camouflage.
The colour palette features old Barbour favourites: brown, green, and navy. As well as featuring signature pieces such as the Beaufort, which was re-worked with fresh prints in the follow-up to the brands S/S collaboration with Japanese label, White Mountaineering.
The Heritage Tweed collection, which was inspired by the 1919 Barbour catalogue, combines the casual with the smart. A fitted tweed blazer paired with a polo shirt, corduroy alongside a cap and somehow it all just works.
The attention to details is what makes this collection so strong. Upon closer inspection you’ll see that the camouflage is made up of White Mountaineering’s Japanese tempest wave print. The tips of drawstring’s are dipped in colour. The Tweed panels have coloured speckles. Tiny details that have a big impact.
We have a feeling that this won’t be the last time we see Barbour at LC:M.
