The most eventful seven days you will ever experience has been and gone (until next year that is) and now it’s time to start taking things seriously.
The real work has begun and there’s no time for messing around, but of course the expected fresher’s flu has no doubt found its way into your system. Now there may not be an actual solution (other than lying in bed with a lot of tea, which isn’t an option because you have lectures all day), a little help from some beauty products and styling tactics will help and make you look and feel as though Fresher’s never even happened.
Step 1 – Conceal
You’ve had at least 3 consecutive late nights rolling in at 4am and undoubtedly your under-eye circles are beginning to make an appearance. So it’s time to whip out your favourite concealer and counteract the dark areas that are causing you to resemble the endangered panda.
Apply a single stroke to each area and gently pat it in to reduce the appearance of premature wrinkles.
We recommend this concealer as it’s cheap and cheerful, and most importantly it does the job.
Step 2 – Highlight
Highlighting is a masterful method of bringing light to your face and achieving an artificial but natural-looking healthy appearance. However it’s all about trickery and finding the perfect highlight shade for your skin tone.
Once you’ve found either a cool-toned or warm-toned highlight colour start by applying the shade to the inner corners of your eyes to wake them up a little, then to your eyebrow bones and the high points of your cheekbones too. Voila!
We recommend this highlight colour as it’s likely to suit many skin tones and is ridiculously inexpensive.
Step 3 – Comfy hoodie
A cozy hoodie is brilliant at the best of times, but it’s a whole new unbeatable style savoir when we’re talking about feeling particularly delicate. A hoodie is such a casual and easy-to-style fashion piece, one that doesn’t take much thought to pair with other items yet still achieves an effortlessly flawless look.
To cohere to the transitional autumn season an oxblood snuggly thrown-on is a good way to go. It can also be the statement of your outfit so don’t worry about matching everything else to it. Throw on your favourite pair of light-wash jeans and band t-shirt and you’re ready to face the day.
We recommend a ASOS hoodie because it won’t make your bank account wince and is ideal for extreme comfort.
Step 4 – Beanie
So getting up at 6am instead of 7am didn’t sound all too appealing, right? But now your alarms going off, an extra 20 minutes in bed sounds a lot more appealing than washing your hair. Your only option now is a beanie, it may not be the most fashionable item of clothing but there are a few beanies that will save the day.
We recommend a nude-coloured beanie from Asos, easy to pair with most outfit choices and is warm.
Step 5 – Flat comfortable shoes
Heels have made an appearance a bit too much lately and your feet are feeling the strain. So it’s only generous to let them recover. Picking footwear that is comfortable, reliable and fashionable can sometimes be harder than it sounds.
We recommend Converse All Star’s, they’re easy to style and are like walking on heaven above.
