Louis Vuitton’s, Nicholas Ghesquiere, showcases femininity with a tough edge. The dazzling Spring Summer 16 catwalk is ‘Mad Max’ chic and displays a bright, bold personality.

Louis Vuitton gave the past a modern twist in a sci-fi 80s theme, featuring an eyebrow-raising revived puffball skirt trend. Paired with prim bell sleeved blouses and black ankle boot or chunky flatform laced brogues and sandals, the puffball skirt adds a touch of romantic fantasy to the punk vibe.

A stark contrast between femininity and masculinity was portrayed through boxy shapes combined with ruffling and the colour theme of black, white and barbie pink. Crop tops are teamed with geometric trousers and shorts that featured metallic applique.

Leather jackets stole the show; each one embellished with the classic LV print. The jacket appeared in several forms but the main attraction was the boxy biker style jacket that made its appearance several times. One particular jacket was printed with a black and white striped sash, incorporating a red and gold theme for the LV logo print.

Accessories featured heavily in this show and most models carry the classic heritage luggage in the form of small-boxed studded bags and a few models wore wide loose belts. To add to the edgy grunge theme, all models hands were bound with leather.

This collection had it all and the items are unspeakably desirable.
