It’s time to resist that temptation we all have. It’s too cold to even think about what to wear and the thought of throwing on the warmest jeans, jumper and boots seems like the best idea ever. But with the vintage look rocking the high street this season, it’s time to spice up your wardrobe and experiment!

Autumn and winter can become much more exciting when it comes to getting ready by combining classic warm autumnal tones and vintage style silhouettes. If you would like a challenge, why not visit your local vintage shop and have a rummage through the rails to find some timeless pieces? If vintage shopping isn’t your thing, we have picked out some retro inspired clothing which are a bit more accessible.

There are so many stylish pieces on the high street which are inspired from timeless vintage trends that have been given a modern day twist. Why not channel your inner 60s chick with of a pair of cigarette trousers and a contrasting roll neck jumper? Don’t be afraid to be bold and make a statement when it comes to cigarette trousers. From tartan to houndstooth, there are so many daring patterns available which would add a modern look to any retro outfit.

Finish off the 60s look with a mid-heel or a pair of loafers, which will compliment any outfit. If a tailored fit isn’t for you, try a floral blouse tucked into a pleated midi-skirt. By wearing an outfit like this, it is smart but fun and flirtatious at the same time. This particular outfit will scream 70s, but can be mixed with a court shoe or heeled ankle boot to make it more contemporary. We mustn’t forget the suede skirt, which has been dominating the rails as part of the 70s comeback trend.

So why not take your autumn/winter wardrobe back in time this season, and enjoy putting together some vintage inspired outfits!
