Urban Decay Moondust – £35

The new Urban Decay Moondust kit could be one of the most pigmented palettes that the brand has released to date. Containing eight different shadows, each pan is packed with colour and blinding sparkle. Although this palette may be a bit pricey for an impulse buy, it’s the perfect alternative if you want to save yourself the hassle of applying loose glitter. Quick and easy to use, this palette is a total time saver for adding sparkle to your every day look.

FN Top Tip: Apply glitter directly on top of primer before it has fully absorbed into the skin. This ensures minimal fall out and allows the glitter to stay on your lid for longer.

Morphe 35T – £21

The Morphe palettes are the holy grail of nude eyeshadow. The 35T release has certainly lived up to expectations and provided a stunning collaboration of mattes and shimmers in shades of copper, brown, mauve and nude. These palettes are affordable and you’ll probably never need another nude palette again. They’re also a perfect stocking filler for any makeup geek!

FN Top Tip: Layer, layer, layer. Apply a matte shadow base and build up the pigment on your lids by applying shimmer on top. This helps the glitter stand out and will last longer throughout the day.

BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Palette – £27.50 (Amazon)

If you’re interested in trying new brands, particularly ones you can’t get your hands on in stores in the UK, then this palette is a must! Successful YouTube star and beauty blogger Carli Bybel collaborated with BH Cosmetics in 2015 to produce a palette that is nothing but sparkle for her loyal fans. The palette contains 10 eyeshadow shades ranging from shimmery nude pink to dark brown and four highlighting shades. The palette is perfect for a simple shimmery look and the pigment is brilliant. The quality of the packaging feels a bit flimsy but it’s what on the inside that counts!

FN Top Tip: If you’re in a hurry, apply a pale gold shade after foundation to give your eyes more depth. For your eyes to appear more awake, apply the second highlighter shade in your tear duct to open up the eye.

Cheap and extremely cheerful, MUA is a British brand which is providing the nation with amazing alternatives to expensive luxury products. The Luxe Metallic eyeshadow palette contains four shadows with the essential shades you need this winter. The copper and dark brown can be mixed together to create a blown out glittery smokey eye which is perfect for any Christmas outing. For £4 you really can’t go wrong!

FN Top Tip: Spray your make up brush with setting spray before picking up the eyeshadow; this helps bring out the pigment without having to apply the same colour five times!

Coming in five different shades ranging from pale pink to grey, these cream shadow sticks are perfect for quick application and lasting pigment. This is ideal if you’re not overly confident in applying eye shadow when in a hurry. The price won’t break your bank balance and it’s something that you can keep in your handbag without worry of shadow explosions!
