Bold coats can be the item that completes and transforms your entire outfit. Wearing a distinctive design or an unusual texture will certainly display a sense of creativity to an otherwise casual outfit.
Coats are essential to battle the North East’s weather climate therefore, a stylish coat is a must. We searched for people in Newcastle City Centre wearing these coats which come in different shapes, prints, designs and colours; one of which being a pink, rib-knit puffer jacket.

The puffer coat originates from 1936 but it returned to popularity again in 2016 when luxury designer brand Balenciaga featured the puffer in their A/W 2016 catwalk collection.
This look was spotted again in the streets of Newcastle worn by student, Grace Gent, 18 who said she loves the puffer coat as it “suits most outfits.”

Another stand-out coat spotted in Newcastle city centre was a cropped, tartan teddy bear coat which has been a winter favourite since last year.
This style of coat has lasted multiple seasons as its cuddly embrace became a token for the Instagram influencer’s feed – spotted on endless fashion gurus including, Sarah Ashcroft.
