From the runway to the high street: the prairie dresses you need this autumn.

Here at Fashion North we have been on the look out for big trends to upgrade your Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Say goodbye to your old knits and welcome prairie dresses.

This trend has been very prominent for this upcoming season. From the runway to celeb street style, it seems everybody is having their own take on this trend. You have probably seen this prairie chic trend on celebs such as Florence Welch and Kate Bosworth known for their bohemian style.

ALEXACHUNG took to London Fashion Week with their AW19 collection which featured an array of different prairie styles. Alexa Chung herself also closed the show in one of her bottle-green designs.

Fashion brands such as Pretty Little Thing, Missguided and ASOS have had different approaches to the trend, giving them shorter silhouettes for a more daytime casual look. These dresses are perfect for any time of the year but we suggest sticking to warm and neutral colours or even adding your favourite knit cardigan to achieve the perfect fall look.

Here are some of our prairie picks:

This high neck puff sleeve prairie dress from Missguided retails at £30. Paired with some chunky white trainers this is a perfect casual day time look.

A statement green floral print midi dress is a definite must-have to bring a bit of colour into your winter wardrobe. The split and ruffle detailing makes it easy to dress this up or down. You can grab this dress from Topshop for £39.

This New Look split detail puff sleeve midi dress is the perfect rust shade for Autumn. It is available on ASOS for £27.99. Paired with some little black boots and a chunky belt or chunky trainers and a cardigan for an effortless look.
