‘Huge Queues, big crowds and busy shops’ – these are the phrases that have been used to describe The Bridges annual Student Raid in recent years. This year would have marked the 10thanniversary of this event however due to COVID-19, the Sunderland shopping centre has had rethink a few things.
The new event Discount for Days will see retailers offering up to 30% off between September 28 and October 5, giving you five days to get anything you need at a discounted price to set yourself up for the term ahead.
With brands such as Swarovski, New Look, Schuh and EE all offering 20% off full priced items you do not want to miss out. To see the full list of retailers and their discounts click here.
When asked about how they have dealt with Covid-19, Naomi Osborne, marketing and events coordinator at The Bridges, said: “Ultimately, the impact of Covid- 19 was a huge challenge. We had to rethink the event to ensure it was safe for all students. Hosting a digital campaign gave us the opportunity to still welcome students and offer them a range of exclusive offers.
“Safety guidelines are in place such as one-way systems, hand sanitisation stations, enhanced cleaning and more.
“We want students to enjoy our fantastic offers and to also welcome them to the city. We have lots of fabulous brands in the centre for students, and we hope they visit us for their must-have student essentials.”
Although everyone feels like a winner when saving money shopping, one lucky person will also win a £200 voucher provided by The Bridges to spend on anything you like in the shopping centre. All you have to do is register online to enter this competition, see the link below.
