Goodbye setting sprays and hello Jamsu: but does Korean beauty craze actually work?

Here at Fashion North, we dip our made-up faces in freezing cold water so you don’t have to!

We tested out the latest Korean beauty trend of the season called Jamsu where women are now submerging their face under water after applying a full face of makeup to apparently give a flawless setting to your foundation.

Women are now dunking their faces in water after they have applied their makeup, in a Korean technique known as ‘Jamsu’ – which promises a flawless, lasting look. The word Jamsu means submerge which explains the process of what you need to do to achieve this look.

Many people have started to jump on the cold dip trend because it claims to keep your full make-up intact and stay on all day without you having to reapply. This has also helped tackle oily skin which is due to dunking your head in the cold water which begins to mattify the skin and leave you with a flawless look all day.

Normally, we love to try a good setting spray as it is quick and easy to do before you head out the door but this time we thought we would apply a glamorous make-up look to put the ‘Jamsu’ technique to the test.

The technique

If you want to test out this technique make sure you have completed applying your makeup.
Then grab a bowl and fill it with cold water before dunking your face in for 15-20 seconds.
Once done, make sure to pat it dry with a cloth or tissue without removing any of your makeup.

PS: If you are going to try this technique, we would highly recommend a waterproof mascara!
