Shop Review: Ruby & Frank Boutique, Tynemouth

Ruby & Frank is a small boutique, positioned just off Front Street in Tynemouth. It is a hidden gem which stocks high fashion yet quirky clothing, which is aimed at young women.

Ruby & Frank opened in 2009, and since then it has become the ‘must visit’ shop of the village. They stock clothing designed by local artists such as Von Kev who produces screen printed Tynemouth logos onto sweatshirts and t-shirts.

The shop also stock garments from online fashion brand ‘Glamorous’. Ruby & Frank are very particular in which clothes they decide to stock; think big floral patterns combined with t-shirt style dresses and quirky knits.

Although a little out of the way, the store is worth a visit as the stock is surprisingly affordable, with a Boy London top costing only £10 and an on-trend denim shift dress costs only £48. On top of this, the staff are friendly, which gives everyone who visits the boutique a valued experience.

The shop it’s self is incredibly small, yet packed to the brim and organised in a great way so that it is easy to shop and every item of clothing can be seen clearly. Iconic photos of Audrey Hepburn and artwork from J H Lynch are hung on the walls which gives the shop a 60s vibe.

The brand embraces its hometown; Ruby & Frank hold events within the village such as Burlesque nights and a recent collaboration with Barca Art Café that involved putting on a music event featuring reggae, soul and funk music.

If you’re after clothing which is on trend, yet affordable and unique, Ruby & Frank is the place to visit.
