Happy Mother’s Day to all the stylish Mothers out there!

There are not many things we all agree on at Fashion North HQ, but one thing we do is that we all love our Mums. So much so that it seems we even love to steal their style.

There’s those pale pink cigarette cropped trousers, that white embroidered shift dress, oh and don’t forget that black biker leather jacket. All three items are pieces that my mum has kept since her 20s and are now staples in my wardrobe.

More often than not, I get the most compliments when I’m wearing an old item of clothing that was once my mums. I feel pride in saying “oh it was my mum’s” when someone asks where my dress or jacket is from.

It’s not a surprise we love to steal our mums’ old clothes, considering how most trends fashion come back around.

Like the canary yellow jacket and pencil skirt duo my mum is sporting in an old photograph I found lying around the house. Now the High Street is full of these matching cohorts (she really was stylish back in the day!).

Our tips for stealing you mums style? Incorporate one staple item into your look by pairing it with current items you have.

This keeps it from looking dated or costume-esque. But be sure to model your new creation for her like what we have done above – it’ll be a great trip down memory lane!
