Located just off High Bridge, Attica is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Newcastle.

First established in 1983, Attica specialises in selling vintage clothes, accessories and antiques. Spread over two floors, the shop is like an eclectic collection of organised chaos.

The ground floor is small and rather like Aladdin’s cave. It is bursting with women’s clothing, accessories and household goods. The walls are plastered with retro paintings and photographs, it makes you feel as though you have been transported back into the 1970s. To help you browse, the clothes are organised through era going from the 1920s to the 1990s.

The second floor is slightly larger and less chaotic than downstairs. There is large array of furniture items and lamps as well as men’s wear and of course winter coats, all organised neatly into fur, leather and denim clothes rails.

Prices are decent, you can pick up a pair of ball-gown gloves for a tenner, dresses price from £15 and coats from £20. The furniture is slightly more pricey but considering you are picking up an timeless and one of a kind item it is definitely worth the investment.

If you love all things vintage, Attica is definitely a shop you must visit. There are some real treasures and bargains to pick up!
