We’ve all fallen in love with Meghan Markle since her engagement to Prince Harry. Her style has been flawless and she did not disappoint when she arrived in Edinburgh on Tuesday wearing a navy and emerald green tartan Burberry coat worth £2,000.

The longline wool and cashmere-blend coat is perfect for winter and is definitely a staple to update our winter wardrobes. Not only is the coat practical for the sombre and rainy weather, but it’s also a wonderful piece to complete and complement our winter looks.

Shopping for warm, winter coats can be hard at this time of year, when shops are full of spring looks while we are still shivering, especially when we want them to complement our styles — but at a reasonable price.

Taking inspiration from Meghan’s Edinburgh look, we spotted this navy, long-line tartan coat from Zara at a fraction of the cost. The coat is now reduced to £69.99 from its original £129.

The sleek and classic coat is perfect for the winter season and being less than £100 makes it even better.

Another beautiful coat following the tartan trend is from Topshop and costs only £59. Although it’s not navy, the brighter tartan is still a coat that will still keep you stylish until the sun finally shines. We can’t promise, however, it’ll land you a prince!
