Beauty week came to an end in early July at the Bridges in Sunderland and let’s say it was very successful for the shopping centre with a several days packed full of competitions, prizes to be won and different events to attend. Here at Fashion North, we had a great time and couldn’t wait to tell you all about it.
During the week, there were so many opportunities for the shoppers to get involved in beauty week including winning some amazing prizes. If you spent £20 or more on any beauty or skincare products you could take your receipt to the customer service desk which you will pick a scratch card and win some prizes. Here is the bonus, there is a winner every time. No matter if it’s small or big, you could always win a prize including perfume bottles, product samples, Make-over’s from No7 or MAC and so much more. We had won a No7 makeover which was amazing because their foundation is a favourite already but getting the chance to test out more of their products was even better.
On Thursday 5th July, we were kindly invited to join their VIP night for the late night shopping also known as a beauty safari for bloggers and influencers in the North East. You may be reading and wondering what even is a beauty safari and what do you do? Well, we are here to give you all the insight as well as share some go to products you need in your beauty collection. We started off the evening with complimentary refreshments and drinks; a glass of prosecco or orange before we split into two groups and headed on our beauty adventure. The first stop was Boots which we headed to the Estee Lauder counter where we learned about their bronze goddess collection. This would be perfect for the summer if you are wanting a more glowy appearance. We highly recommend the Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelée.
Following on from there we visited the Benefit and Clinique counter which we were giving an insight into different skin types and how they find your perfect skincare. At Clinique, they have a successful system called ‘meet your match’ which can determine your skin type, shade, coverage, benefits, even down to how many hours you sleep a night. This has worked wonders for their brand and provided a positive audience reaction too. During the evening, we also went to Hotel Chocolat, made a cleanser at Lush, tested some of the staff favourite products at The Body Shop before heading to Topshop to learn about Doll Beauty.
During the evening the shopping centre also had the Debenhams beauty community card awards which were an opportunity for the local shoppers to get some great products to test out and go to some masterclasses from your favourite brands including MAC. Tickets for the event could be redeemed for £5 off any product you buy, therefore if you picked up a lipgloss which was that price then you would get it for free, how amazing is that?
After a victorious week for The Bridges, their first annual beauty week was a success concluding on Saturday with a VIP event featuring different talks and masterclasses.
