Paris fashion on a Primark Budget: What to wear on a romantic city break

Fashion North reporter Kaitlyn Bright wanted budget-friendly, stylish pieces to pack in her suitcase for a weekend break. Here, she shows how Primark became a one-stop shop for city break essentials.

This month, I am taking a holiday to Paris for the first time with my boyfriend and I needed new outfits for the trip while not spending a crazy amount of money. I want to be able to buy souvenirs so why spend a lot of cash on the clothes when I can still get cute pieces at an affordable price? So, I headed to Primark to to find the perfect looks on a budget.

Dinner Date

The first thing I knew I wanted was a dress I could wear out to dinner, preferably black or red. I was able to find a black mini dress (£14) at Primark that I will pair with tights and a pair of black kitten heels I already own.

I am also going to pair this outfit with a faux leather bomber jacket (£22)  I had previously bought at Primark. It is the perfect versatile jacket; I can wear it on a night out or out to a nice dinner.

Out and About

I also wanted a new outfit that I could wear during the day while exploring the city. I wanted clothes that were comfortable to walk around but also looked good in the many pictures I know I will be taking. I also wanted to keep it simple so that I could accessorise. Luckily I found the perfect white long sleeve top (£7) that takes basic and makes it more elevated.

I am going to pair this outfit with some jeans and a cute shoe to complete a simple yet comfy look.

Travel Day

The last day I am in Paris will mostly be a travel day, however we will have some time in the early afternoon to do some last minute sightseeing. I wanted to stay extra comfortable for the train ride back but also wear something that I could take pictures in and feel confident. Again, Primark delivered. The trousers I got are actually pajama pants (but that can be between you and me) but look like something you could wear out.

I will wear this with a basic top and some comfortable walking shoes to make the perfect travel day fit.
