A flat lay’s beauty stems from its deliberate arrangement and its capacity to convey a narrative from an overhead perspective. This article will take you behind the scenes of a recent exploration into this captivating photography style. The challenge was to create several distinct flat lays utilising fashion and beauty items, and the resulting compositions are showcased below.
For the flat lays, I created several distinct compositions. My centrepiece is a collection of jewellery, with a particular focus on a bag and a necklace. Another flat lay showcases a black dress as the main garment, accompanied by a necklace, flowers, shoes, and an assortment of beauty products. Then there’s a collection of makeup products and cosmetics, a perfume bottle, other beauty bits, a rose, a jewellery body bag, a pink dress, and flowers. Additionally, I styled a flat lay with red and black lingerie and beauty products, and finally, a monochrome colour theme featuring a sweatshirt, joggers, scarf, beauty products, and some digital items. Throughout the shooting and editing process, I also explored different colours of lighting and contrast to enhance the visual appeal of each flat lay.
