Tried and tested: Bûche de Noël face and body cleanser

Lush

At this festive time of year it’s essential to discover what beauty products there are out there for treating the skincare issues winter brings. High street store Lush have a wide range of products to help cleanse, clean and treat winter skin. For those of you who don’t know, Lush don’t test their products on animals, so they’re one of our top picks for this year.

In this article we test out Lush’s Bûche de Noël face and body cleanser, it’s made from all natural produce including satsumas, cranberries, sweet almonds, kaolin and a drop of brandy.

Note: The product is not necessarily pleasing to the eye, it’s an off white colour with brown and red speckles from the fruits used. But give it a chance.

The cleanser comes as a crumbly paste, use a pea size amount and add a small amount of water, mix this together in your hands. Apply this to your face, the texture is grainy and feels like you are lightly exfoliating your skin. The smell can only be described as interesting, not unbearable but a mix up of festive smells.

Once applied, leave for a minute or two on your skin then wash off with warm water, and towel dry your face. Cleansers can often leave skin feeling dry, but Lush’s Bûche de Noël helps to remove oils from your skin and leaves it feeling moisturised, soft and hydrated.

Lush’s Bûche de Noël is £6.50 for 100ml which is a reasonable price as you only need a small amount each time you use it.
