More dash than cash – Bin bag chic!

For this style challenge we were tasked with creating an outfit from only household items, this challenge was the hardest for me to do but I took inspiration from past students attempts and looked around my room to find things that would work.

I decided I would try to make a dress out of bin bags but not regular black bin bags. I luckily had some pink and purple bin bags from Home Bargains around that worked perfectly to make the look more colourful and creative.

I experimented on the mannequin by draping the bags in several ways until I was happy with it. I made a strapless wrap-style dress by draping individual pieces of purple and pink bin bags across each other. To finalise the look I tied a purple bin bag around the neck of the mannequin to create a little scarf and make the look more chic.

I was surprised by how well this dress turned out but the colours and draping of the bin liners made it a really fun and interesting outfit!
