7 Valentine’s Day Activity Dates in the North East

1. Angels’ Share, Jesmond, Newcastle 

Newly opened bar Angels’ Share in Jesmond, Newcastle invites you to spend your Valentine’s or Galentine’s date with their very own self-serve wine bar. According to their Instagram you must choose your wine category as each wine fits into a style to suit you, then using contactless payment you’ll be able to choose the size of glass you would like, then pour and enjoy. Angels’ Share complies to all wine lovers’ needs, with categories including: crisp and fresh wines, champagne and sparkling, bold and structured reds and rose.

2. Stand Comedy Club, Newcastle 

Need a laugh with your partner or a group of friends? Well this place is perfect for you! The Saturday Show on Valentine’s Day offers 4 hours (8pm – 12am) of drinks and laughs. Go for food before the show starts in their own restaurant with menu consisting of tacos, burgers and loaded nachos. They only ask for customers to be over 18 as alcohol is served throughout. 

3. Four Quarters, Newcastle

Head back in time to a retro arcade bar for a date night filled with Guitar Hero, Pac-man and Dance Dance Revolution with a side of pizza and cocktails (with vegetarian and vegan options available for all). Four Quarters frequently hosts live events such as music and movie quizzes, movie nights and live music.

4. The Botanist, Sunderland and Newcastle

Whether it be splitting the Valentine’s three course sharing menu from the 9th-14th  February with your partner or a Galentine’s meal with the girls on Friday 13th with their spectacular cocktail list. Join The Botanist this Valentine’s Day with live music all weekend starting from 7pm and specialty themed cocktails and menus for the event. 

5. Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle 

This obscure vintage cinema with a gorgeous, old-timely screening room is the perfect date night setting to dress up to watch new and old films. On Valentine’s Day, the cinema is screening Wuthering Heights (booking options available that include prosecco and popcorn), Bride of Chucky, Moonstruck and Happy Together. The cinema offers cheaper movie tickets for students, the elderly, carers and disabled. 

6. Kiln Ceramics, Newcastle 

It has to be the ultimate Valentine’s Day activity to create homemade pottery with your loved one that coincides with food and drinks to give you everything you need for the perfect date. Join Kiln Ceramics on Valentine’s Day with brunch services from 10am-3pm, afternoon services 12pm-3pm and the evening service 5pm-9:30pm. Enjoy a range of mezze and grills inspired by middle eastern spices.

7. Jorvik Viking Feast, York 

If you are looking for something out of the box and alternative, then Fashion North has the perfect Valentine’s event for you. On Wednesday 18 February, dress up like you’re back in AD 866 to enjoy a three course meal of traditional Viking cuisine and hear stories from their battles. This event stresses a strict over 18s policy to dine with Viking victors.
