Fashion North joined forces with Spark FM as they attended the first day of Newcastle Film and Comic Con last Saturday (November 21).
The two-day weekend event was hosted at the Metro Radio Arena to pay homage to some of the most iconic Film and TV franchises which have graced our screens over the years.
The panel included a variety of celebrities from actors to illustrators; including Beano Illustrator Nigel Parkinson, Downton Abbey actor Sebastian Dunn, Star Wars actor David Prowse (who played Darth Vader in the original trilogy), and Game of Thrones actor Ross Mullan (who played the White Walker in seasons 2, 3 and 4).
A colourful maze of aisles selling everything from the obscure movie prop to the latest comics entwined around the arena; from collectable movie/TV merchandise, outfits, toys, art and rare autographs that you won’t find on the high street.
With specific zones present at the event, including Comic, Manga, Anime, Gaming and Cosplay, we were bound to see some impressive homemade costumes; and we were spoilt for choice! From Storm Troopers to Harley Quinn, and with some costumes taking years to perfect, we’ve selected some of our favourites from the event.
