It’s a (Christmas) wrap: how to turn brown paper from drab to fab

Brown paper isn’t just for sending boring parcels

If you want to get crafty and put in more effort than shop bought wrapping paper when it comes to Christmas presents this year, than grab a roll of cheapo brown paper and bunch of embellishments and accessories and get creative! Here are three ways we jazzed up parcel paper to get some festive looking presents.

Pom-poms
Who’d have thought those fun wool pom-poms you used to make when you were younger would appear on your Christmas gifts one day? These you can actually buy little plastic ‘pom-pom makers’ so you don’t have faff around with cutting little cardboard circles and it makes making them super quick. Simply make some pom-poms and attach them to your parcel with some matching wool for fun, furry presents.

Personalise
This method will make any gift extra special for the person who is recieving it. Using a letter stamp decorate the outside of the parcel – use different sizes and ink colour depending on the recievers preference. For the finishing touch add a large initial – this could be a Christmas ornament, a house decoration or a affordable cardboard craft letter like we used.

Confetti
This super fun way of wrapping is bound to put a smile on anyone’s face (until they unwrap it and it gets messy). All you need to do is roll out some clear cellophane, add your parcel and sprinkle with confetti and re-wrap the present trapping the confetti.
