Jesmond Designer Store Jules B Ram-Raided in Early Hours

The designer store Jules B, which stocks brands such as Mulberry, Self-Portrait and UGG, has closed its Jesmond store until further notice after a vehicle crashed into the front of the shop in a ram-raid this morning.

First opening in Jesmond in 1984, Jules B has been serving the community for over 40 years beginning with womenswear and expanding to menswear soon after. The brand continued to thrive leading to new stores across the country and even internationally.

In a statement posted to their social media platforms, Jules B stated:

“We’re deeply saddened to share that our Osborne Road store in Jesmond will be closed until further notice. In the early hours of this morning, the shop was severely damaged during a ram-raid, and it will take us some time to repair the premises and make it safe before we can reopen.”

The store reassured their customers that they could still shop with them online at julesb.co.uk whilst the team worked on “getting back on our feet”.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “at 3.15am today (Tuesday) we received a report of a collision on Osborne Road in Newcastle.” The vehicle is said to have caused “significant damage to the building” but had “left the area prior to police arrival”. There have been no reported injuries and enquiries are going on.

Anyone with information should contact Northumbria Police via direct message on social media or using the live chat and report forms on the force’s Website.
