King Kylie: 10th Anniversary and Pop-Up Party

Kylie Cosmetics has celebrated their 10th anniversary after launching back in November 2015. Kylie Jenner’s brand kickstarted by selling the famous ‘Lip Kits’ that broke the internet. Throughout the years she has expanded the brand to eye shadow palettes, make-up brushes/bags and mascaras. In 2017, Kylie Cosmetics started a face range, with the launch of the ‘Kylighter’ and later produced a blush range. Kylie has also collaborated with her well-known sisters Kim and Khloe, and brands such as Topshop. More recently we have seen her explore the skincare and fragrance industries.

On October 17th, Kylie Jenner hosted a pop-up party in LA, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Kylie Cosmetics. King Kylie channelled her younger self, wearing a bubblegum pink wig and latex pink dress to match. The party featured her new collection, that included throwbacks such as the iconic Lip Kits. The venue was decorated with pink wigs and lights, with the iconic lips logo stamped everywhere and on everything.

On the @kyliecosmetics Instagram page, Kylie shared:

“A decade of Kylie cosmetics! Of course I had to do something special for you guys. My King Kylie collection is all for you! I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you”

Beauty influencers such as Patrick Star and Mikayla Hawken, the Kardashian sisters and, of course, ‘momager’ Kris Jenner attended the celebrations. Other celebrity appearances at the party included Huda from Love Island, Hailey Bieber and Makeup by Mario.

This party seems to be the revival of the King Kylie 2016 era. Kylie has been wearing her iconic black and teal hair colour in a recent instagram post with her make-up appearing to be more bold than her recent appearances at events like the MET and the Oscars. Perhaps Kylie and Kylie Cosmetics are trying to bring back the full-glam makeup from 2016, a potential pushback at the ‘less is more’ trend.

If that is the case, then we at Fashion North are all here for it!
