The first Monday in May only means one thing: The Met Gala. The most stylish annual event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, attended by the finest and most inspirational names in the world of fashion.
This year, the theme of the night was avant-garde, inspired by Rei Kawakubo’s Comme Des Garçons, which is also the theme of the museum’s annual Costume Institute Exhibition, due to open on May 4.

The Met Gala was full of stunning gowns and suits, from Kylie Jenner in embellished Versace to Hayley Baldwin in a tiered Carolina Herrera skirt with elegant accessories to match.
The prominent trends for this year’s Met Gala were red, donned by Emma Roberts, Rita Ora and Ashley Graham to name a few. Embellishment was also a key trend, from Lily-Rose Depp and Stacy Martin.
