Paris Fashion Week AW 15: Chanel

Karl Lagerfeld has yet again blown us away with his innovative show décor that tells a story.

We’ve been to the supermarket, witnessed a feminine protest and this season we visited the Chanel brasserie complete with croissants and Baptiste Giabiconi behind the bar. The Grand Palais was transformed head to toe and the FROWers, including Anna Wintour and Florence Welch, took their seats behind a laid table.

Each model entered from revolving doors, styled with black headbands, soft pink lips and stand out smokey eye make-up, the look were immediately capturing. After showing their clothing, the models took a seat in the brasserie and enjoyed refreshments and waited for others to join them.

The Chanel collection for AW15 was practical and chic, with knee length skirts, soft roll necks and pretty tweeds ,all complete with two tone slingbacks with a block-square heel. Cara Delevinge opened the show in a tweed skirt suit, with quilted padding on the sleeves, embellished with black ribbon bows, followed by Kendal Jenner in a fully padded black skirt suit.

Long sheer black skirts were layered over black trousers and a pastel pink sweater dress, paired with pearls, it was just what you’d imagine ladies who lunch in Paris to wear. Evening wear was monochrome, with silk layered skirts, black jackets, bow ties and black ribbon tied around the waist; it was clear there was a distinct 60s feel to the collection, from the sheer babydoll dresses and the slingback shoes.

To fit the theme of the show Lagerfeld created the Assiete, a clutch bag in the style of a bistro plate, following the fun milk carton pouch and shopping basket from previous collections.

The Chanel brasserie seemed like a perfect way to spend any Tuesday morning, bravo Karl, bravo.
