Givenchy is known as an edgy brand that like to create drama within their collections and drama they delivered and what a better way to do so than black?!

The absence of colour is a major key in this autumn/winter collection with a generous splash of colour and metallic crafted to mimic a breastplate. This idea of armour creates a contrast between the ballerina-like tulle dresses that appeared later in the show with the strong ideologies.

In between waves of the dark looks appeared very light delicate patterned shift dresses gave the eyes a break from the darkness. Backing up the idea of strong women some of these garments bared ‘The eye of Horus’, which in Egyptian mythology is a symbol of protection and power.

As a whole, the collection not only represented females as stereotypical girls but also in a strong light with help from the makeup. A dark dramatic eye that swept across the temples and a very fresh face allowed for that added drama and a harsh intimidating look.

The use of animal patterns emphasises this look with a pre-historic mind-set of showing a hunters pride.
