Sitting front row at a Chanel show is every fashion lovers dream – a dream that was granted for many people this morning.

Every invitation to todays show featured the slogan ‘front row only’ above an image of a beautiful gilded chair. The same chairs were placed back-to-back lining the floor of the Grand Palais (made to look like a couture atelier) giving every guest that exclusive ‘frow’ view.

As every Chanel show, of course, the audience included key fashion players, such as Anna Wintour and Pharell Williams.

The Autumn/Winter collection featured many classic Chanel elements: boucle jacket and skirt co-ords, a scattering of pearls and ladylike tailoring – a perfect nod to Coco on International Women’s Day.

As the models poured down the aisles it was clear this was a collection of two halves. The show opened with striking pink pieces paired with denim trimmings giving a couture yet wearable feeling.

After a few outfits in low-key neutral colours the runway was filled with dark, but pretty, victorian-esque pieces – lots of ruffles, neck bows and long gloves.

Metallic accents added glamour to an already opulent show. A personal favourite was a muted gold culottes jumpsuit, belted and paired with camel bowler hat and layers of pearls.

Hot-right-now models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid both sported Chanel’s take on outerwear. Gigi wore a gorgeous sand-coloured quilted jacket, with fur cuffs, complete with matching scarf and Kendall made the hoody chic in pale pink with black leather trim.

The collection was studded with fabulous accessories. Oversized bowler hats, in a range of fabrics and finishes, perched upon model’s heads with wrist straps and flowers tucked by the ear. Every look of the collection was matched with a pair of boots. They were in black and metallic leather with criss-cross tie detailing or in fabric finishes to match the jacket or skirt.
