The Ultimate Autumnal ‘Boo Basket’: A fashion North Guide
Over the last couple years, a trend of making ‘boo baskets’ during autumn has been popularised all across TikTok and Instagram. In case you weren’t aware, ‘boo baskets’ are essentially a decorative gift hamper with all your favourite items and essential self-care products to help you relax and enjoy yourself over the upcoming cold months.
They are usually made by someone to gift to their partner, friend or family member, but some people also decorate these baskets just for themselves. If you have been tasked with the responsibility of making a boo basket for a loved one or you simply want to treat yourself then read on as we show you some of our autumnal favourites with a spooky twist.
Here is a simple guide on how to construct the viral boo baskets from the Fashion North team:
Firstly, the actual basket…
We have gone with a simple wicker basket from B&M, big enough to fit all the beauty goodies in but also affordable.
The basket has also been decorated with a cosy blanket, perfect for the colder nights, and some Halloween themed chocolates.
We have focused on adding more beauty products in our boo basket, as we feel the abrupt change from summer to autumn also takes place with our beauty styles, scents and routines. Here is what beauty essentials we have included:
1. The Garnier Ceramide Body Butter
This body butter is perfect for the dry skin we tend to get from the cooler autumn air. It is infused with ceramides and cocoa butter. Personally, we find it leaves our skin feeling hydrated and smooth hours after applying. This product ranges in price, however it is usually £10, but it is worth the price as it lasts a while.

2. The Pantene Keratin Hair Oil
Hair oil is an essential all year round, hair gets dry in all weather and seasons, it is important we keep our hair nourished. The Pantene Keratin hair oil is an affordable option to repair your hair.

3. An Impulse Vanilla Body Spray
For only a pound, this body spray is so worth it. It’s the perfect size to carry around in your handbag. We have gone with a new Impulse scent, which is the flavour ‘Vanilla Kisses’, an autumnal staple.

4. A Garnier Nutri Bomb Sheet Mask
Think of autumn as a rejuvenation for yourself after the long party months of summer. For the perfect wind-down night, a face mask is an essential and a must for a boo basket. We have gone with a Garnier Nutri Bomb sheet mask, its milky properties leaves the skin hydrated and smooth.

5. The Rimmel ‘Butter Me Up’ Lip Butter
As many people can probably relate, as soon as the temperatures drop, our lips become painfully cracked and dry. Having a new lip butter/balm is important, which is why we added it to our boo basket. We had been looking around Boots and Superdrug for one that stood out to us until we landed on the Rimmel ‘Butter Me Up’ lip butter as it looks like a dupe of the viral Summer Fridays lip butter. It is in the shade ‘Latte Delight’.

6. A Fenty Beauty Gloss Heat Bomb
As a little treat, the boo basket needed a Fenty touch. We added the Fenty Heat Bomb, a tinted lip plumping gloss. To keep to the autumnal aesthetic we got the gloss in a warm-toned shade called ‘Fenty Glow Heat’.

7. A B&M Candle
You cannot have a boo basket without a candle, even if it’s from B&M. This mini candle is in the scent ‘Amber Linen’.

Everybody needs brown plaid in their wardrobe during October. When we spotted this plaid scrunchie in Primark, we thought it was a must for the Fashion North boo basket.

9. Primark Mini Clips
To accompany the scrunchie, we thought we would get these brown mini claw clips as half up half down hairstyles are very trendy at the moment.

To emphasise the ‘boo’ part of a boo basket, we added this witchy black and white mug from One Beyond to use for cosy hot chocolates, a delicacy we all need this month!
