We are just over a week away from the opening of the Bowes Museum exclusive showcase of the Yves Saint Laurent: Style Is Eternal exhibition on Saturday July 11.

The retrospective is the first of its kind in the UK, and is in partnership with the Pierre Bergé Foundation and Newcastle store, Fenwick.

Fenwick’s are supporting the exhibition by creating unique YSL inspired window displays in their Newcastle and York department stores, as well as selling tickets and YSL merchandise in the Newcastle store.

The exhibition will display a comprehensive look at the French designer’s life and work. Containing 50 iconic garments from his Russian collection, androgynous tuxedo and iconic Mondrian dresses.

Yves Saint Laurent paid homage to various artists such as Picasso, Matisse and Van Gogh during his illustrious career, which can be seen in the French Chateau setting.

Tickets for the showcase are available from Fenwick’s in Newcastle and online via the Bowes Museum website. The exhibition runs from July 11 – October 25 2015.
