Fashion North’s Beauty Favourites: October Obsessions

As our Fashion North website has recently had a revamp, we have decided to introduce a new monthly favourites report for our beloved beauty products we discover that month or continue to love. Collectively, the fashion north reporters will discuss and reveal their treasured products they possess that month, and we will share them with you!

October: what a month! The sudden change in colours and weather, means a refresh to our makeup bags and cosmetic stands, to fit in with the upcoming autumn aesthetic.

Here are some of our favourite beauty products from October:

1.BEAUTY WORKS MIRACLE SPRAY 10 – IN – 1

Ria’s favourite is the miracle 10 – in – 1 spray from Beauty Works, used for nourishing and protecting your hair before heat-styling.

Here are the 10 elements of the product described on the website: eliminates frizz, restores shine, nourishes, replenishes oils, protects from heat, detangles, conditions, prevents split ends, chances natural body and repairs dry, damaged hair.

2.NO FLUFFS GIVEN UNBEARLIEVABLE DIY CLUSTERS

Jaden’s favourite, of course, is the Unicorn Cosmetics cluster lashes! These are so easy to apply and affordable.

These clusters are the perfect product for a natural look that lasts.

3. WELEDA SKIN FOOD

Jess’ obsession is the Weleda skin food, this brand uses organic ingredients and is formulated with biodynamic methods.

The Weleda Skin Food is a deep moisturiser for dry skin and can be used on the face and body. This moisturiser is also good for chapped lips (something we are all suffering from right now!)

4. ICONIC LONDON TRIPLE THREAT MASCARA

Laila’s favourite is the Iconic London Mascara, a jet black formula made for long lasting luscious lashes.

This product is 100% vegan. We highly recommend!

5. BARRY M HI VIS PENCIL EYELINER

Isabel’s go to this October is the Barry M Hi Vis Pencil Eyeliner, she uses the dark blue and pink shade for a “cute pop of colour.”

This product is no more than £5 and can be bought in shops/online.

6. BED HEAD AFTER PARTY SMOOTHING CREAM

Neve’s ultimate October favourite is Bed Head Smoothing cream, she says “it smells nice and makes your hair feel really soft.”

This product is an anti-frizz must have and formulated with lightweight conditioners.

7. EDINBURGH SKINCARE ‘THE VERY, VERY BEST LIP BALM LIP BALM IN THE ENTIRE WORLD’

Sophie’s special October find, a geranium and sweet orange lip balm from Edinburgh Skincare.

These products are 100% plant based and has eco-friendly packaging. It is infused with ingredients such as beeswax, cocoa butter and coconut oil.

8. AUSSIE SOS SAVE MY LENGTHS

Katie H’s favourite is a classic! The Aussie 3-1 hair oil is an absolute essential for the colder months. Our hair gets very dry when the temperatures drop and we need to keep it hydrated and frizz-free.

9. ELF CAMO LIQUID BLUSH

Kira’s October obsession is the Elf Camp Liquid Blush is the shade coral. She says “the colours are not too intense and easily buildable.”

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but we think blush is a winter staple! Nothing says festive more than rosy cheeks.

10. L’OREAL INFALLIBLE GRIP GEL AUTOMATIC EYELINER

Katie D’s favourite is another amazing eyeliner, the L’Oreal Infallible Grip Automatic Eyeliner. She says “I find it a great eyeliner to do my waterline with!”

A semi-permanent eyeliner inspired by adhesive technologies. A perfect product to use for autumnal looks!

11. CURLY ELLIE

Simon has a brand favourite, Curly Ellie. This brand is for tight curls, specialising in the care of hair and skin. Curly Ellie products keels curly to frizzy hair healthy and moisturised.

A very affordable brand!

12. TREE HUT WHIPPED VANILLA BODY BUTTER

Saving the best till last! My favourite is the viral Tree Hut Whipped Body Butter, in vanilla. This product smells lush and leaves the skin feeling silky smooth.

I highly recommend if you want long lasting moisture on your skin and the scent lasts for hours. However, this product is a treat as it is £15, but it’s Christmas soon, so treat yourself!
