Flatlays: My everyday beauty must haves

As a girl with wavy hair, I firmly believe that hair care is just as important as skincare, especially after years and years of getting my hair chemically straightened, my hair is begging for some care.

I try to use products that don’t contain too many harsh chemicals or ones that may be damaging to my hair, and almost all of my products are either cruelty free or vegan.

I gave up on trying to straighten my hair, as it wouldn’t stay and would go frizzy as soon as I stepped out the door, and I’m learning to embrace my natural hair texture. I try to use little heat on my hair (I sometimes use a diffuser if my hair is being stubborn), last year I used heat 3 times through out the whole year, and when I did I used a heat protectant.

Here are some of my current must haves in my hair care routine:

A satin pillow case (your hair will thank you!):

Curly Girl Satin Pillowcase

Brand: Curly Girl, £22

Detangle wet brush:

Detangling Wet Brush

Brand: Boucleme, £12

Pre wash hair oil

This will help you grow your hair out, and it smells amazing. I try and use this twice a week, and leave it in for 3-5 hours, usually on days that I don’t go anywhere.

Brand: Hair Syrup, £14 (Boots)

Scalp Scrub/Shampoo

Use a shampoo targeted at your scalp, e.g if you have oily scalp get a one for an oily scalp. I found this product is great for getting rid of my product build-up without stripping away the moisture from my hair. I use this to get the pre-wash oil out of my hair, and use instead of shampoo.

Brand: Umberto Giannini, £9.95

Conditioner:

Use a conditioner specific to your hair texture, what your hair needs/wants, e.g if your hair is curly/wavy use one that will help your curl pattern. This one is great for curly hair, and smells soo good!!

Brand: Lush, £18 (215g)

Hair spray (top help, fresh and moisturise your curls):

Brand: Noughty, £9.99 (Boots)

Hair oil (this helps with my frizz):

Natural World Argan Oil 25ml

Brand: Natural World, £2 (Savers)

I’m not very good at makeup, so I like to keep my looks pretty basic, somedays I just wear blush to give my fave a little bit of colour. I’m trying to focus on looking after my skin, using very minimal products and not wearing makeup everyday is helping my skin get a break from product build up.

Here are some of my make up faves:

Highlighter:

Brand: 17. (Boots) £5

Lipstick (I love using this lipstick as a blush)

Brand: Burberry, £37, (Shade: Russet)

Lip Liner:

Collection Lip Liner Sh1 Nude Blush

Brand: Collection, £2.99 (Shade: Nude Blush 1)

Lip Balm (this is the best lip balm I have ever used, and it smells like chocolate orange):

Brand: The Edinburgh Natural Skincare Co. £8.99
