Behind the scenes with North-East fashion brand Lovely Little Me

Lovely Little Me was founded by Anna Rennison, a former student recruitment officer at The University of Sunderland who had a fashion dream.

Through a 150 people market research survey – targeting 18-25’s- she discovered there was a demand for higher quality clothing in trend led styles.

Katharine Taylor, 22, is the Social Media and Executive Manager of Lovely Little Me. She covers a range of diverse tasks, with the main focus being on engaging potential customers and creating a brand image that is true to its ethos of accessible trend led fashion. Before this, Katharine graduated from The University of Sunderland with a BA(Hons) in Fashion Product and Promotion but was lost for some time wondering where to go next.

Katharine said: ”I’ve gained so many opportunities working with the company, being part of a fashion show that raised nearly £1,000, going to a fashion trade show and generally being behind the scenes in a fashion brand.

”I took on as many hours as I could at my Retail Assistant role at Primark whilst looking for a job that would fit me and the skills I possess. I took on a series of freelance writing for clients as a creative outlet while looking for a career path and that’s when Lovely Little Me came along.”

As a newly established company, Lovely Little Me are always wanting to work with local and regional people or brands to showcase what they can do.

They have recently connected with North East blogger The Girl in the Bowler Hat, Amy Rebair, where she was gifted their Anabelle Sweater to style in her own unique way.

Amy said: ”I think it’s nice to maintain relationships with bloggers as they have opinions which can influence their following.

”I love connecting with inspirational people in the North East. I didn’t realise we had so much talent!”

Lovely Little Me are currently working on their Spring Summer collection and organising it’s photoshoot at Hoults Yard in Newcastle.

The collection focuses on red, blue and white tones to give a fresh nautical look whilst being pretty and elegant; using high quality materials gravitated to intricate lace, sturdy structured skirts and unexpected details, such as the ’70s ring pull fastening on their Isla Stripe dress.

The brand is continuously succeeding since the adventure started last Autumn.

Building up a customer base and loyal following on social media, Lovely Little Me has seen a rise in Twitter with an average profile visit of 1,570 people, Facebook with 352 likes and Instagram with 275 followers.

Adding to their social media platforms, they have recently created a Youtube channel.

So what’s next for Lovely Little Me?

They said: ”We’re looking to increase our participation in events, adding that personal touch and friendly Northern style advice. We also have ambitions to add different sized models to our website, so you can click on your dress size and see the exact fit.”
