#BookWorm: The ultimate book wish list this Christmas

Even at the age of 21, I still note down what I would love to get at Christmas, whether I’m treating myself or someone else! There’s one thing that’s on my Christmas list every year, which is a good book. Books are magical at any age, there’s nothing like the smell of freshly printed pages – also a book will never run low on battery!

Alongside this, the health benefits are endless. Studies have shown that as well as educating us, reading can reduce stress too. A 2009 study by Sussex University researchers showed that reading may reduce stress by as much as 68 percent. “It really doesn’t matter what book you read, by losing yourself in a thoroughly engrossing book you can escape from the worries and stresses of the everyday world and spend a while exploring the domain of the author’s imagination,” cognitive neuropsychologist David Lewis told The Telegraph.

Fashion North have brought together the best five books you need on your Christmas list this year, including fashion, beauty, music, memoirs and mental health.
