For anyone who has criticised an outfit, five or more fashionable women have complimented it. Here at Fashion North, it is time to reveal the rankings for the most stylish women of 2022.
British GQ has recently released the list that claims 26-year-old model, Kendall Jenner, is the most stylish woman of 2022. While the list does contain some strong contenders and, for the most part, is one we agree with, we cannot understand why anyone would believe the number one ranking compared to others on the list. We could also query why icons such as Adut Akech or Billie Eilish are not on the list? How come Zendaya was crowned 2021’s most stylish woman and, yet is not even alluded only a year later?

It’s also somewhat worrying that none of the women on said list is plus size, but that is a much longer discussion for a different time. And let’s not forget that at least half the list are so-called ‘nepotism babies’ who, while they have talent and style in their own right, arguably have a helping hand from their famous or well-known family members.
While Kendall is known to ‘turn looks’ as they say, she is definitely not the most consistent with her outfits and they are boundary-pushing to be named the most stylish woman of the year. Especially with the likes of Iris Law and Rihanna on the list at number seven and number four respectively.

We enjoyed her Met Gala 2021 look and, her street style is known to inspire our blazer and jean combos but this is possibly the most important aspect of being a stylish individual. Kendall’s style lacks the personality and expression that other celebrities capture so effortlessly.

Jenner’s sister, Kylie, has a much more individual and historic style. And if you need proof of Rihanna’s deserved elevated position on this list, take a look at any of her Met Gala looks. While we may have mixed opinions on the Met Gala 2021, there is no denying that she always manages to look iconic.

Jenner’s style has developed over the years and, we have loved some of her street style looks with feminine and effortless elements. However, she has relied too heavily on the ‘naked dress’ style for red carpets and, many of her looks are very forgettable or blend into one.

We commend Kendall on her crowning, but we (and many others) would like to re-do the list and add a section for honourable mentions from the far more accurate perspective of stylish women and possibly a fresher and younger mind. After all, Gen-Z are the people of tomorrow.
